Tenecteplase, TPA Guidelines, Penumbra for Acute Stroke, and Osteopenia in Children with Epilepsy
First we'll present data about a new drug for acute ischemic stroke -- Tenecteplase. A new study reports that children treated for epilepsy may have progressively reduced bone density beginning in the first year of treatment. A new mechanical clotbusting system, the Penumbra system, appears to be quite safe and effective. Finally, we'll close with a recent study corroborates the importance of adhering to blood pressure guidelines for the administration of TPA in acute stroke patients.
